We've done it!
It's taken over 2 years of hard work since the original plan for Memory Pools came about, but on 31st December 2010 we finally put the Memory Pools Beta site live. All we need now is some users!
The idea behind Memory Pools is simple - making it easy to capture, share and relive the precious memories of bringing up your children. It's so easy to forget all the amazing things children do and say, and all the emotions and feelings we all go through as our children grow from small babies to complete individuals. Sure, we're great at capturing birthdays, Christmases and holidays - but so much of the wonder of bringing up kids is the little things they do and say. The things that can so easily slip our minds.
Using simple technologies such as text messages, Memory Pools lets you quickly record the little events that make parenthood so special. Once you've quicky captured these memories you can then go online and add more words, pictures and videos to embellish them, and by doing so you'll be creating a rich record of your child's life.
You can then share these memories with selected friends and family, giving them access to your Memory Pools and allowing them to add their own comments. Grandparents in particular will love finding out what their grandchildren have been up to and adding their two-penneth! In a few short weeks and months your Memory Pool will be like an online keepsake box full of precious moments - something the whole family will treasure.
Memory Pools is currently in Beta. That means we'd love you to sign up, start using it and give us your feedback. We'll then incorporate this into the final version of the site. We like to think of Memory Pools as a living breathing experience that you can help shape. It's by parents (we're three dads!) for parents, so we'd love you to get involved and help us make it the best it can be.
Love,
Matt, Daz and Ferg (the Memory Pools Dad Team) x
